The Best Things to Do in Copenhagen With Kids: Part 1
Harbor swimming, a cardamom bun crawl, and the world's most charming amusement park
Copenhagen is the happiest city in the world this year, according to the Institute for Quality of Life’s annual Happy City index. Not surprising, with the country’s accessible health care and education, humane parental leave policies, and commitment to sustainability. Oh, and also its abundant art and culture, ample public parks, clean, swimmable canals, and top tier food scene. It’s no matter that all throughout the winter the region is very cold and, for more than a month, the sun sets at roughly 3:30pm. The citizens of Copenhagen are that happy.

We just spent a couple of weeks in Denmark’s coastal capital city — working remotely and squeezing in as much fun and as many cardamom buns as a person can handle — and discovered firsthand that it indeed lives up to the hype.
We’re working on a Copenhagen Saltete guide with all of our favorite spots to eat, drink and play, but in the meantime I’m sharing some of the best things to do with kids (or without kids! I would do any of these alone, including the harbor trampolines.) There are too many for one newsletter, so look out for Part 2 to come.
For now, read on to find the best buns, where to jump into the canal, and how to make the most of a day at one of the world’s oldest amusement parks.
